Words unique to each Language (that I speak)

Filipino

  1. Kilig, Gigil, Tampo, Lambing

each of these words succinctly describe a feeling we get towards someone we love.

Kilig is a feeling of flattery, blushing, and a tiny bit of horny all together.

Gigil is what you feel when you pinch, hug, kiss someone for their cuteness.

Tampo is when someone you love disappointed you and you just wanna murk for a while to regain their affection.

And lambing is the reverse of tampo, wooing someone or just being loving again.

  2. Gets? Game? Joke! Congrats! OA! Feeling!

these are actually English words turned into expressions that if you use outside the Philippines you might not be understood.

Gets? is a short way of saying ‘Did you get it?’

Game? is a way of asking ‘Are you ready?’

Joke! is a way of saying ‘Just kidding!’

    And Congrats! is shortened Congratulations!

  3. Weh? Sanaol! Edi wow! Kaw na! Dasurv!

These are expressions you would say to someone to congratulate them for something they’ve done or received, but it also rings a bit of jealousy, thinking they don’t really deserve it or thinking it’s unfair.

  4. Chos! Charot! Chika!

these are simply “just kidding!” but they just sound more funny somehow

  5. Bahala na! Pwede na yan! Ganyan talaga!

these are expressions that kinda say something about how easy we give up, we’re content, and we accept our realities even when things can definitely be improved.
